Campaign - it's the way we support our agencies and initiatives. Our United Way Campaign runs each year from July through December. How do we raise the money? We rely on private individuals, workplace donors and corporate giving to achieve our fundraising goal each year.

This year United Way of Greater High Point looks forward to raising $4,150,000 for the community of High Point! Help us achieve our goal by donating here

Our Community's Success

Consecutively, United Way of Greater High Point ranks 9th in percentage change out of all major metro United Way organizations in North Carolina.

It is because of the caring and giving community, we are able to make a measurable difference in the lives of neighbors. We are proud to keep your dollars locally to support our partner agencies.

But don't just take our word for it! Here's what local business leaders have to say:

Steve Earley

Cross Company

Cross Company’s value statement includes the following: “We will be aware of, and responsive to, the needs and concerns of our community.” Accordingly, we strongly support United Way for several reasons:

  • United Way is the most efficient organization we have found in getting donors’ contributions to those most in need.

  • United Way claims that their partner agencies will impact/assist one in three people in our community. When polling our Cross associates that ratio was more than four in five (80%)!

  • Our associates rally around our United Way campaign every year, making it a fun and rewarding event. They take great pride in helping our fellow citizens that are experiencing difficult times!

Mollie Marsh Brugh

Marsh Furniture Company

Marsh Furniture Company and its employees are celebrating the company’s 110th anniversary this year. Throughout the years, we have invested in our community, and we have been committed to the UWGHP in particular, for decades.  We believe strongly in its work and the work of its member agencies--many of us, our neighbors and friends have relied on these agencies over the years for a variety of reasons.
Company campaigns have been a great way to develop employee support for the United Way and to give everyone a chance to make a difference in their community.  The United Way provides speakers and video profiles that touch our hearts and help make giving to the UW contagious.
Again this year we’ll hold a leadership breakfast and an employee Rally Day.  With over 600 employees, this means that we’ll schedule 10 employee meetings, including a separate meeting for those whose primary language is Spanish.  We’re re-instating a popular raffle which auctions off car washes by the management team and a free trip to the grocery store for the lucky winners—sure to spread the contagion even further.   Since we began holding campaigns again after the recession, our pledge dollars have tripled!
Please join Marsh in supporting a wonderful cause by Living United!

David Congdon

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc.

Old Dominion began participating in what was once known as the Community Chest of High Point back in the early 60’s when our company moved here from Virginia. As a family run and oriented business, a core belief is that we have an obligation to support our community and help others less fortunate. United Way has been the primary vehicle by which we offer our employees this opportunity to help so many people through the 28 agencies that are supported by a single contribution. We, as a company, take great pride in having grown our campaign to the leadership position we occupy today and encourage businesses of all sizes to join in this worthwhile cause.

I can't save the world. But I  can help with my community. By being on the UWGHP  Board and participating in some of the committees I can actually see where my efforts are making a difference.
Running a campaign has strengthened our level of team work and helped us become better at attaining our corporate and personal goals.
