As we prepare to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., United Way of Greater High Point is once again mobilizing our community in service through our annual MLK Winter Care Kit Drive. Each year, this effort brings together neighbors, families, workplaces, faith communities, and volunteers of all ages—united in one mission: ensuring our unhoused neighbors are met with compassion, dignity, and the warmth they deserve during the coldest months of the year.

HOW TO HELP

We invite community members to support this initiative:

  • Make a Financial Gift

Donations for the MLK Winter Care Kits are being accepted now through January 16, 2026.

Each kit provides essential items such as gloves, hats, socks, hand warmers, toiletries, snacks, and other cold-weather necessities, offering both comfort and safety to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Volunteers will come together on MLK Day of Service to assemble the kits, which will then be distributed directly to local agencies and outreach partners serving unhoused individuals across Greater High Point.
