With the federal government shutdown halting SNAP benefits effective November 1, thousands of households across Greater High Point face immediate food insecurity. The loss of $7 million in SNAP support threatens to harm families, seniors, and individuals who are already struggling to make ends meet.
As it has for decades, United Way of Greater High Point (UWGHP) is stepping forward to help our neighbors through this crisis by continuing the work it leads year-round — supporting local food pantries, strengthening community partnerships, and connecting families to critical resources.

United Way continues to collaborate with local nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and civic leaders to coordinate resources and ensure that families in crisis have access to food and essential support.
