Help, Assistance, Information and Referrals
What is 2-1-1?
2-1-1 (or 1-888-892-1162) is an easy to remember, three-digit telephone number that connects people with important community services to meet everyday needs and the immediate needs of people in crisis.
For example, 2-1-1 can offer access to:
- affordable high quality child care/after-school care;
- counseling and support groups;
- health services;
- food, clothing and housing and
- services for seniors and the disabled.

Project Board Development
What is PBD?
Project Board Development is a leadership development program. It is designed to identify, recruit, train and place multi-cultural and geographically diverse candidates on committees and governing boards of local health and human service organizations, including those affiliated with the United Way of Greater High Point.

What is a Venture Grant?
A venture grant is a one time grant (approved by UWGHP’s Board of Directors) used to fund innovative programs that fill gaps in the human service delivery system or meet identified or emerging human service needs.
