2010 PROGRAM REVIEW TEAM VOLUNTEERS
This year the communities of High Point, Archdale, Trinity and Jamestown raised approximately $4.3 million to help our friends and neighbors through the United Way of Greater High Point. The volunteers and staff at United Way would like to invite you to participate in our annual community investment process as a program review team member. Through this process you will see first hand where the money raised in the annual campaign goes in the Greater High Point community.
There is no better way to learn about the needs in our community and how our partner agencies are addressing the situation. We have listed below the basic timeline of how things will unfold. (Please remember volunteers only serve on one PRT based on their personal/professional preference or whichever one best fits their schedule.)
TRAINING
We will offer a mandatory one-hour training session on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 9:00am to 10:00am at First Baptist Church, 405 N. Main Street, High Point (directly across the street from UWGHP). Make up training will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 9:00am to 10:00 am at the same location. Volunteers need to attend one of the sessions and select which PRT they wish to serve on.
EDUCATIONAL TOURS (Required)
UWGHP will take volunteers on a tour of our partner agencies. We will meet at the UWGHP parking lot and will stick to a tight schedule. Please note: volunteers must be able to commit to the entire day.
· The Income PRT will tour agencies on April 12 from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
· The Education PRT will tour agencies on April 13 from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
· The Health PRT will tour agencies on April 15 from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
AGENCY PRESENTATIONS
Each PRT will convene according to the schedule below to hear program funding requests from the agencies. All meetings will be held at First Baptist Church, 405 N. Main Street, High Point (directly across the street from UWGHP). Meals and healthy snacks will be provided to keep you energized. At the end of the day, the PRT will make individual funding recommendations for each program. Please note: volunteers must be able to commit to the entire day.
· The Income PRT meets on April 26 from 8:30am to 4:00pm
· The Education PRT meets on April 27 from 8:30am to 4:00pm
· The Health PRT meets on April 29 from 8:30am to 4:00pm
